Kina Park
violin

Kina Park, a violinist, is an active soloist and chamber musician throughout the United States and Korea. She made her debut with the Kiev National Chamber Orchestra at age 14. Since then she has won prizes at numerous competitions, including the Strad Magazine Competition, American Fine Arts Festival Golden Era of Romantic Music Competition, Nanpa (Sung-Jung) Competition, Kyemyung University Competition, Busan Music Education Committee Competition, Korea Herald Music Competition, and Korea Music Newspaper Competition. As a soloist, she has performed with members of Plymouth Philharmonic, Virtuoso Ensemble, Haffner Sinfonietta, InKorean Orchestra and Busan Philharmonic Orchestra. She has also performed at such venues as the Aspen Music Festival, Banff Music Festival and Miyazaki Music Festival.

Born in Korea, Ms. Park received her bachelor’s degree from Seoul National University, her master’s at the New England Conservatory and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Boston University.

Ms. Park served on the faculty at the Concord Conservatory of Music, currently she is the adjunct faculty at Phillips Exeter Academy and the faculty at South Shore Conservatory. She has been featured as concertmaster of the Haffner Sinfonietta and the Hwaum Boston Chamber Orchestra from 2009 to 2014, and since November 2014 has been performing regularly with the Boston Symphony Orchestra.

Minjung Chun

Minjung Chun attended Yewon Arts School and Seoul Arts High School graduating with top honors. She earned the Bachelor of Music degree at Korean National University of Arts, and the Master of Music degree and Artist Diploma at Yale University’s School of Music with a full scholarship, where she studied with Ettore Causa. The recipient of special Boston University String Department Honors, she earned the Doctor of Musical Arts degree at BU's School of Music, studying with Michelle LaCourse.

Ms. Chun was First Prize Winner of the Korean Chamber Orchestra Competition in Strings, the Music Journal Competition, and the Sungshin Women's University Competition. She was also the top prizewinner in several Competitions including the Korean National Journal Competition, the Segye Daily Newspaper Competition, and the Kukmin Daily Newspaper Competition. In the US, she was a top prizewinner in the American Protégé Competition's Concerto division and performed in the Winner's concert at the Carnegie Recital Hall.

She performed as concerto soloist with the Philharmonia Boston, the Yewon and the Rumanian National Orchestras. Her first solo recital was as a winner of the Kumho Young Artist auditions in Korea. As a chamber player, she performed in Kumho Chamber Music Concert, Buam Art Chamber Concert, at the Norfolk Music Festival with the Tokyo String Quartet and in other prestigious festivals.

Ms. Chun is a director of Soloists of New England, and is actively involved as a faculty of Boston Music Institute.

Hyun-ji Kwon
cello

Hyun-Ji Kwon, cellist, currently maintains an active schedule as soloist, chamber musician, and teacher. She is a cellist of Meadowlark Trio, Echo Bridge Cellos, ArtiQue in Boston, Convergence Ensemble, Cape Cod Chamber Orchestra and many more ensembles in the Boston area.

She taught at Boston University as a lecturer, Boston University Tanglewood Institute(BUTI) as a Co-director of Cello Workshop and cello coach at BUTI’s Young Artist Orchestra Program, as well as Walnut Hill School for the Arts as a chamber instructor. Currently, she serves as a cello faculty at Colby College, Phillips Exeter Academy, and the Project STEP.

She received her DMA from Boston University, MM and GD from New England Conservatory of Music, and BM from Ewha Women's University.

Yoon Won Chung
piano

Yoon Won Chung received his degrees in Piano Performance at the University of Michigan, Rice University, and Longy School of Music of Bard College. His teachers include Zalina Gurevich, Christopher Harding, and Leslie Amper. He has received further musical instructions from Anton Nel and Ann Schein at Aspen Music Festival and from Sandra Wright Shen at Brevard Music Center. He has received additional music instructions and coaching from Peter Takács, Levon Chilingirian, Vadym Kholodenko, and Peter Serkin.

He currently teaches piano and music theory at Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra and Music School, Providence College, and Brown University. He also composes music, and he has received composition instructions and coaching from Daniel Crozier, Bright Sheng, Paul Schoenfeld, and Paul Brust.

Heeyeon Chi &
Victor Cayres
piano

Korean pianist Heeyeon Chi has performed in Canada, Germany, Luxembourg, Russia, Switzerland and in the United States, where she recently appeared at Weill Recital Hall, Carnegie Hall. She has been awarded several prizes in piano competitions, such as International Keyboard Odyssiad Festival & Competition, Brandshaw & BuonoInternational Piano Competition, Canadian Music Competition, Burnaby Clef Society Competition, and Burnaby Concerto Competition. Highlights of her previous engagements include appearances as soloist with the New England Repertory Orchestra conducted by Tiffany Chang, Orchestre des Jeunes de Fribourg conducted by Theophanis Kapsopoulos, guest artist at Banff Centre Arts Program, Eastern Illnois University, Interlochen Center for the Arts, and at the Boston University Tanglewood Institute Young Artists Program. Ms. Chi is currently on the piano and chamber music faculty at New England Conservatory Preparatory School and Continuing Education.

Brazilian pianist Victor Cayres has earned praise for concerts with the Sine Nomine string quartet and as soloist with such orchestras as Boston Pops and Brno Philharmonic in the Czech Republic. He has been a guest artist at Banff Center for the Arts in Canada, Interlochen Center for the Arts, Boston University Tanglewood Institute, Claflin University, Western Washington University, Moscow’s Tchaikovsky Conservatory and State University for Arts and Culture. He has released CDs for Albany Records, Parma Records, Centaur Records, with works by American contemporary composers David Owens, Joseph Summer, and John H. Wallace. Mr. Cayres frequently performs in Brazil, Europe, and in prestigious venues in the U.S., such as Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall, Chicago’s Preston Bradley Hall, Boston’s Symphony Hall and Jordan Hall. His concerts have been broadcast live at Brazil’s TV Cultura channel, Boston’s WGBH 99.5 All Classical, and Chicago’s WFMT Fine Arts Radio.

Victor Cayres has appeared as soloist with NEC Philharmonia, Sioux City Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Pro-Musica, Boston University Symphony Orchestra, Orquestra Petrobras Pró-Música, Orquestra Sinfônica Brasileira, Orquestra Sinfônica and Orquestra de Câmera at University of São Paulo, collaborating with such conductors as Ronaldo Bologna, Mark Churchill, Marc David, Ryan Haskins, Gil Jardim, Keith Lockhart, Norton Morozowisk, Donald Palma, Roberto Tibiriçá, and Jan Zbavitel. Under the direction of Theophanis Kapsopoulos he has toured Czech Republic and Switzerland with the Orchestre des Jeunes de Fribourg.

He currently serves as faculty at Boston University School of Music, piano instructor and keyboard area coordinator at Eastern Illinois University, Co-Director for Boston University Tanglewood Institute Young Artists Piano Program, and faculty at New England Conservatory Preparatory School and Continuing Education.
